We are Arjan den Boer and Hilleke Oskamp and we have one
daughter: Ciska. We live in Zwijndrecht, in the Netherlands,
just south of Rotterdam.
Ciska lives with her boyfriend in Amersfoort.
How we met
We met each other during a vacation in October 1994, a trip through Syria
and Jordan. In the beautiful desert city of Petra in Jordan all has started.
Before we met Arjan already lived in Strijen and Hilleke lived in Amsterdam.

Living together
The distance from Amsterdam to Strijen, about 100 km, became a bit too far
after a while. Because of this we saw each other mainly during the weekends,
so we decided to start living together. Arjan already owned a house
in Strijen so Hilleke moved in with him. But before this could all happen
she first had to find a new job somewhere in the neighborhood of Strijen.
She finally found a job with Progress Software. After we went on holiday
to Mexico and Guatemala we start living together in November 1996.
Pregnant
Around July 1998 it turned out that Hilleke was pregnant and so we decided to get married.
Marriage
We married on Saturday, 12th of December 1998. We didn't have a honeymoon
as we already went on vacation in September and October. That trip to India
and Bhutan was already planned before Hilleke got pregnant and we decided
to get married.
Ciska
Our daughter Ciska was born on the 30th of March 1999 after a very fast delivery
in a hospital in Dordrecht. On her own

Moved
In 2021 we decided to move and to leave Strijen. We bought a newly built apartment
in Zwijndrecht and we moved in March 2024.
